Digitizing Rural Finance for Smallholder Farmers
Akaboxi is a digital financial inclusion system that enables smallholder farmers in communities to manage and monitor their savings together. We provide communities with a robust and secure way of handling savings kept in boxes, transitioning from rudimentary methods to a secure, reliable, and easily monitored digital system.
How We Work
- Work with existing Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs)
- Create new savings groups where they don't exist
- Assign NFC-enabled Identity Cards to each member
- Weekly meetings with groups averaging 30 members (95% women)
- Integration with mobile money platforms for seamless transactions
